Launch map snapshot

Mistfall Hunter Maps

Start in Hallowgrove, prepare differently for Brandrgarde, and treat every extraction as a visible objective that other players can contest.

Quick answer

The current launch snapshot has two main areas: Hallowgrove, the opening and solo-focused area, and Brandrgarde, a more dangerous prison area observed in trio play. Official launch material also confirms Brandrgarde: Cataclysm as a high-risk, high-reward difficulty. Brandrgarde solo modes are announced for September, but are not treated here as currently live.

Orient yourself before the opening run

This page intentionally uses an original orientation illustration instead of republishing third-party map tiles. Use it to frame the run, then verify every landmark and route in the current match before committing valuable gear.

Current snapshot, not a permanent rule

Hallowgrove/Brandrgarde mode availability is based on an Aug 3 PS5 launch review and current community map work, cross-checked against official area mentions and the Aug 5 roadmap. Recheck the in-game selector after updates.

Roadmap watch

Brandrgarde solo is announced, not live

On Aug 5, Bellring Games announced plans to add Solo Mode for both Brandrgarde Normal and Cataclysm in the middle of Season 1 in September. The studio also warned that the extra modes can split matchmaking queues and create new solo-balance challenges.

Publication rule

Until a later official notice and the in-game mode selector confirm release, this guide treats Brandrgarde solo as planned content rather than a current queue.

Extraction

How the Returner Woodling loop works

  1. Carry a Soul of Return. The official site says defeating a Returner Woodling yields the item needed to find a way home.
  2. Reach an extraction interaction. Independent launch testing describes set points that summon the bell-like creature tied to the exit.
  3. Expect a fight and noise. The creature must be defeated before the exit becomes usable, and the bell signals your intention to nearby players.
  4. Commit or abandon. If the mist, another player, or a bad fight closes in, leaving the area can be better than defending sunk loot.
  5. Bank the run. A successful exit secures the spoils; dying before extraction loses what that run carried.

Use community tools as references, not final truth

Gamer Guides is building filterable maps for Hallowgrove and Brandrgarde with missions, monsters, loot, navigation, and key locations. The project openly labels the data as work in progress and accepts marker suggestions.

Basic extraction advice

Build a safe decision loop before you enter

  1. Choose one primary objective. A quest, boss, resource run, and PvP hunt pull the route in different directions.
  2. Keep cover between you and open sightlines. Hallowgrove’s open terrain increases the value of early detection and ranged pressure.
  3. Do not spend every mobility tool on PvE. Save an answer for a third party or a failed extraction attempt.
  4. Leave buffer time for the bell fight. Reaching the point is not the same as being safely out.
  5. Update the plan when the loot changes. Once the bag becomes valuable, a shorter exit can beat the originally planned route.
